This just in: The Rural Alberta Advantage and Dan Mangan have combined indie forces for a fall tour, a brief trek which brings the two treasured acts to the Burt on Thursday, November 1st.
And speaking of musical tour team-ups, Noel Gallagher's Flying Birds and Snow Patrol have booked a string of Canadian gigs including a stop at The Centennial Concert Hall on Tuesday, October 30th.
Seasoned Canadian rockers Sloan will perform Twice Removed in its entirety at the Pyramid on September 20. I'm in if they play Between The Bridges as an encore.
Add Evian Christ and Headaches to the Purity Ring show going down at the Lo Pub on September 13th.
The Carin' for Karen Benefit takes place at the WECC on Saturday, August 11th feat. The Flying Hellfish, Vesely Couture, and Los Luchadors Tamboreros.
Local act The Sturgeons will be at Le Garage Cafe on July 13th.
The Sadies will be supporting Neil Young on his tour which includes the gig at the MTS Centre on November 16th.

Almost three decades into their existence (c. 1983), alt-rockers Melvins are still going strong.
Now flying under the moniker 'Melvins Lite', the seasoned, experimental, and highly influential group - now comprised of frontman Buzz Osborne, drummer Dave Crover, and bassist Trevor Dunn - are currently on a world tour, a lengthy jaunt which includes a stop at The West End Cultural Centre on Monday, July 9th.
